I’m taking a massive shot in the dark here, but this article continues up on my postulations regarding what awaits us in the after-life, good or bad. In part 2, we will explore some various concepts of Hell propositioned by movies, our religious leaders, and a few theories of my own. Remember kids, there are no “educated” guesses on this topic, since we’re all just creating the myths as we go along. Popular media is as valid as any source, so reach your own conclusions.

Dissecting the Afterlife Part 1: Heaven

haloIf God is perfect, how exactly can he “change” personality traits between the Old and New testament? Are there two versions of “perfect”? What kind of Paradise has this wrathful/benevolent being designed for when we die?

Humanity’s concepts of an Afterlife are varied and inconsistent, riddled with loopholes and non-sensical details. So many religions feel that they’ve nailed the description, though even the quintessential imagery of the “Fire and Brimstone” phrase has been misconstrued to be a depiction of Hell instead of appropriately applying to God’s wrath, itself. If we can confuse what Hell looks like in contrast to what God does to people who piss him off, how are we ever going to get the facts straight? Let’s discuss what we “know” so far….

H21Our culture is fascinated by Nuclear technology. And why not? It’s that quintessential bit of science that could easily swing one way or the other, be used for good or for evil, another unwieldly power that we apes probably shouldn’t be tampering with. But we do, and have, and will. Pandora’s box has indeed been opened, the world’s (if not America’s) infatuation with the devices sealed with a “boom”.

Juicing, The Vegetable Kind

benefits-of-juicing-2Sue and I tried “juicing” for a full three days, eating nothing but frappe’ veggie drinks and fresh fruit in an attempt to detoxify, clear our skin, and feel “refreshed”. The only thing I felt was pain, however. I’m so addicted to diet soda, that I had a tension headache for 24 hours. Once that passed, the next 24 hours had me rolling on the floor when I should have been sleeping, instead forcing me to lament the intestinal rumbling that began at 5am and didn’t let go.
